Come Hear About Your New Parks And Green Spaces Levy

From Karen O'Connor at Seattle Parks and Recreation

It is an exciting time for Seattle parks and your neighborhood.

Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting four open houses throughout the city and we encourage you to come and learn about the new six-year, $146 million 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy. There is funding for new neighborhood park land and more than 50 named projects, which include 23 playground renovations, two parks on top of reservoirs, four playfield improvements, forest and stream restoration projects, and funding for development in Discovery, Magnuson and Jefferson parks and in the Washington Park Arboretum. To see the named projects in your neighborhood visit http://seattle.gov/parks/levy/default.htm.

These projects will improve your neighborhood by creating or improving vibrant parks and green spaces. Learn the process for implementing these projects and the timing for decisions about the $15 million Opportunity Fund, which will support other community-generated acquisition and development projects.

Come learn how to participate in shaping the future of Seattle parks.

All meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30pm.
