Thank You Seattle University Supporters!

CYO Athletics wants to thank everyone who came out to support Seattle University's opening night at Key Arena. The arena was full of energy and spirit, thanks in part to the CYO teams who came and cheered. The men's basketball team came out victorious against Fresno State 85-84.

The Redhawks rallied from down 81-75 with 1:40 left.

Seattle took an 83-82 lead on Garrett Lever’s follow of Aaron Broussard’s miss with 37.6 seconds left, Lever’s only basket of the game. Fresno State’s Greg Smith responded with a layup at the other end with 24 seconds left. Cervante’ Burrell scored on a baseline reverse with 8.3 seconds left, then came up with a steal on the final Fresno State possession.

CYO Athletics' Associate Athletic Director Clint Richardson was honored at halftime with a ceremony that consisted of the 29 greatest players in Seattle University history. It truly was a special night, and Seattle can give a proud "Welcome Back" to the city's Division I Catholic basketball team.

Remember, CYO Athletics, through our partnership with Seattle University, has special priviledges to provide tickets to any CYO teams interested in coming out and supporting this young, exciting team. Simply shoot an e-mail to scott.bailey@seattlearch.org if you are interested in getting a group together for any of the weekend games this season. View the schedule at http://www.goseattleu.com/
